Round-by-Round Fantasy Football Draft
Analysis
(Rounds 4-6)
|
Round Four: The round began
with Antonio Gates and was followed by quarterback Aaron
Rodgers by Team K. Team K said, "38th overall seems
a bit high, but with Rivers and Romo going in round three
I wanted to get a great QB before they are gone. It is
always important to go with the flow of the draft."
Reggie Bush went next to Team J and they said, "It
is a tough call here. I wanted a running back and the
ones available seem to all carry risk, Addai is a big
question, as is Larry Johnson and Lynch has the suspension.
In the end, Bush is better than those backs in a points
per reception league."
Terrell Owens follows Bush and Team I said, "Owens
in round 4? I know there is some risk, but I love him
in round four."
Joseph Addai and Marshawn Lynch were next followed by
quarterback Kurt Warner who was the 7th overall quarterback
taken. Team F said, "Warner could finish in the top
three at quarterback if he plays like he did in '08, but
I do worry about his age and the fact that an injury can
be around the corner. I will be sure to get a good backup
and possibly even Matt Leinart."
The controversial Brandon Marshall was drafted next by
Team E one slot in front of Dwayne Bowe. Team E said,
"I know Marshall has lost his shine with the departure
of Cutler, but that is why he went in round four and not
round two as his stats suggest. I also think Kyle Orton
is a bit underrated and is almost as good as Cassel who
throws to Bowe."
The draft finished with Larry Johnson
to Team C, Carson Palmer to Team B and Pierre Thomas to
Team A. |
Round Five: The round began
with the selection of wide receiver Chad Ochocinco to
Team A and he said, "Look, he is still a very talented
receiver. I think Carson Palmer is going to return close
to his past form and Ochocinco will be right there with
him. I think they are both bargains in the 2009 draft.
Rookie Chris Wells went next above Thomas Jones to Team
B and they said, "It is a big gamble, but we felt
round five was a good spot for a gamble. In addition we
have seen some of Wells in his rookie workouts and he
looks great. He could be the best rookie back this season."
The round continue with Donovan McNabb and Dallas Clark
going followed by the second rookie running back to be
drafted, Knowshon Moreno. Team F said, "I am little
worried because the Broncos have a new coaching system
and have signed a few veteran running backs, but he was
the first running back taking in the draft and the Broncos
are going to want use him from day one."
A run on wide receivers began with the selection of T.J.
Houshmandzadeh. He was followed by Roy Williams, Vincent
Jackson and Bernard Berrian.
The round finished with running backs Felix Jones and
Derrick Ward being drafted. |
Round Six: The round began
with wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez going to Team L. They
said, "Gonzo is now the starter in Indianapolis.
That says it all.
Running back Willie Parker went next and Team K said,
"Parker has rarely been a great fantasy back and
Rashard Mendenhall clouds his future. With that said,
he is a starting running back available in the six round
and that is a bargain."
The fourth overall tight end Chris Cooley went next followed
by Jay Cutler. Team I said, "I know he doesn't have
the same receivers as in Denver, but it doesn't mean he
is still not a great fantasy quarterback I think he is
a bargain in round six.
The round continued with Eddie Royal, Kellen Winslow and
Antonio Bryant. Team F said, "I can see Bryant going
lower than his 2008 stats because he is inconsistent and
the Bucs don't have a starting quarterback yet. But I
think he is worth a look in round 5th or 6th round."
The round finished with the drafting of quarterback Eli
Manning by Team A and they said, "I love waiting
for Manning every year. I get him cheap and he always
performs well." |
