| Chester
Taylor
- Has done a good job backing up Jamal Lewis in
Baltimore and now gets an opportunity to run behind
a great offensive line in Minnesota. Could top 1,400
yards and 10 TD's. |
| Frank
Gore
- The former U of Miami running back attempts to
join some of his former alumni as NFL studs. Gore
is on his way with his 608 yards @ 4.8 and 3 TD's
as a rookie. He will start over Barlow and if Alex
Smith can turn it up a notch, Gore could be a great
fantasy back. |
| Cedric
Houston
- Curtis Martin Finally showed signs of slowing
down in 2005. Houston, the rookie 7th round draft
pick rushed for 302 yards @ 3.7, and although he
is no sure thing, he should get a chance to play
a lot more in 2006. The Jets spent two #1's on offensive
linemen. |
| Cedric
Benson
- It is hard to say that Thomas Jones may lose his
job, he is almost stud, but you don't spend the
4th pick in the draft on a back up. Bottom line
is Benson has the chance to start. He rushed for
272 yards as a rookie. He is a 1,000 yard back if
he starts. |
Willie
Parker
- Exploded in his second year for 1,202 yards, but
lost valuable fantasy points in the red zone to
Jerome Bettis. Now Bettis is gone and the keys to
the run offense are in his hands. Duce Staley and
Verron Hayes will be in the mix, but Parker's numbers
should go up. |
| Chris
Simms
- Simms to a big step in year 2 and became a good
NFL quarterback. The next step may be becoming a
good fantasy quarterback. He threw for 2,035 yards
with 10 TD's and 7 INT's in 2005. Carnell Williams
takes the pressure off him and wide outs Clayton
and Galloway give him the targets he needs to succeed. |
| Rex
Grossman
- The former #1 pick got his starting job back at
the end of the 2005 season. The offense has some
good tools, including WR Muhsin Muhammad. Still,
the Bears will have a run oriented offense to compliment
there defense, so Grossman's fantasy potential is
limited. Makes a good prospect in larger leagues
or 2 quarterback leagues. |
| Jon
Kitna
- Mike Martz will team up with the former Bengal
back up in Detroit. He played great in 2003 when
he threw for 3,591 yards with 26 TD's & 15 INT's.
He has very good wide receivers to throw to as well. |
| Ernest
Wilford -
The retirement of Jimmy Smith is big news for Wilford.
He and Matt Jones will fight for the #1 spot in
Jacksonville, but it was Wilford he became the favorite
target of Leftwich. The 6-4 wide out caught 41 passes
for 681 yards and 7 TD's as a rookie 2nd round pick.
|
| Braylon
Edwards -
The third overall pick of the 2005 draft missed
a chunk of the season and still finished with 32
receptions for 512 yards and 3 TD's. He and the
young Charlie Frye could blossom over the years.
Edwards is an amazing talent. Great for keeper leagues. |
Reggie
Brown -
The departure of T.O. means Brown moves up to the
#1 slot. McNabb is a great passer and should get
it to him at least 80 times. The 2nd round pick
caught 43 passes for 571 yards and 4 TD's. |
| Matt
Jones -
The 6-6 wide out also benefits from the retirement
of Jimmy Smith. Whether he is #1 or the #2 receiver
his size should equal 10 TD's. A good fantasy back
up with potential to start. |
Koren
Robinson -
The Vikings have huge hopes for the former #1 pick
to break out in 2006. He caught 22 passes for 347
yards & 1 TD in 2005. He did catch 78 passes
for 1240 yards in 2002. |
| Jaber
Gaffney -
If Reggie Brown doesn't take most of the catches
along with L.J. Smith & Westbrook, Gaffney could
surprise. He quietly caught 171 passes for 2009
yards in his 3 years as a Texan. More of a possession
type WR. |
| Sammy
Parker -
Eddie Kenison just doesn't quite have what it takes
to be a #1 WR. His teammate, Sammy Parker, just
might. He caught 36 passes for 533 yards and 3 TD's
in his second year, including 27 receptions in the
last 7 games. He could be #1 in Kansas City. |
| Kellen
Winslow -
The 4th pick of the 2005 draft missed the entire
season with an injury. He returns in 2006 healthy
and ready to show his abilities. Can be the best
tight end in football by the end of the year. Is
a great security blanket for the young Charlie Frye. |
| Ben
Watson -
The #1 pick of the New England Patriots played well
and finished with 29 receptions, 441 yards and 4
TD's. He should supplant Graham as the feature tight
end in New England and with only Deion Branch as
a viable target for Brady, Watson could expand his
role and become a legitimate fantasy tight end. |
