First
Round Notes |
No
major surprises in the first round. Peyton Manning
did get picked a little higher than some thought
he might be picked, but as manager E stated, "After
Barber, the first-tier backs are gone. Manning,
the only first-tier QB, is worth a shot, especially
when I can still get a good back in round 2.
Ronnie Brown was chosen ahead
of more certain backs, Portis and Johnson. Team
H said, "Brown is a bit of a gamble, but
he might become a first-tier back while the rest
most likely will not. Potential. |

Round Notes |
Team
J shook things up a bit by drafting Torry Holt
a tad higher than expected. It would start a run
and the first-tier wide receivers and you saw
Steve Smith, Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens all
going higher than expected because of the run.
Team J said, "Look, it wasn't a reach. I
had 2 picks in a row and wouldn't be picking for
a long time. If I wanted a good WR, it was now
or never. I'll have to wait on my QB and pick
up a lower rated running back, but lets face it
Steven Jackson, Dominick Davis and Carnell WIlliams
are good backs and could each beak out, but based
on last year or any years statistics, Holt is
far better. I think he is the #1 WR. I am hoping
for a Julius Jones, Chester Taylor or a Warrick
Dunn type back to fall to me. I am also eyeing
Reggie Bush as my #2 back. I am confident one
will fall to me. Any of those could be as good
as the backs I past on in round 2.
Carson Palmer was taken in round
2 as expected. Team C said, "You just can't
let the chance of getting the best QB go by. I
think he will be back for game 1, but he should
be 100% for the second half for sure. Palmer &
Alexander sounds good to me." |
