Third Round Notes

The 2005 disappointing Jones-backs, Kevin and Julius go in round 3. They both have low first round, high second potential, but could be very average like in 2005. Reggie Bush was a surprise gamble by team E, especially with several guaranteed starters available. Team E said, "He could be huge as a rookie, he is worth a gamble. If I didn't take him now he'd definitely be gone. I will have to get a decent veteran back-up to insure him though."

The round basically went to running backs as teams scrambled to get their #2 backs. No one gambled on a third running back. Team J, who hoped and prayed a good back would fall after taking Holt in round 2 landed a solid one in Warrick Dunn. Team J said, "I am not thrilled, but he is underrated and was one of the backs I would have been happy if he fell to me. Is Kevin Jones better? Now I can get my QB before the run starts."

Fourth Round Notes

As team J stated, he took his QB, Bulger, and the QB run was on. Team I said, "I was jumping for joy with Manning in the 4th round, I think he is going to explode this year, at least in terms of fantasy value.

There was also a bit of a run on WR's as teams scrambled to get their one stud, with the exception of team F who surprisingly took a third running back, Willie Parker. Team F said, "First I wanted some insurance for Jamal Lewis, second, he is a great pick for my RB/WR slot and finally I love Parker this year. No more Jerome means more yards and TD's for Parker.

Finally the second tight end went, Tony Gonzales. Team B said, " I pick again soon, so I can wait on a QB, besides Gonzales can still be the #1 tight end. There was simply too many even players at this point and I wanted my sure-thing tight end locked up.
